Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about using Tabletop Junkie

How do I create an account?

Click the "Connect" button in the top-right corner of the navbar, then either enter your email and password and click "Continue", or choose "Continue with Facebook" or "Continue with Google".

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Click on "Forgot Password" in the login page after clicking on Connect in the top right corner

How do I change my username?

Usernames are requested on a need-to-know basis and are not required during registration.

A username is requested when you perform actions that require one, such as creating a listing or messaging a seller.

Once chosen, a username cannot be changed directly in account settings. If you need it changed, please contact support and request a manual update.

How can I list a game in a different country than the default one I chose?

In the 'Manage Localisation' section in your Settings (found in the user dropdown), you can add new locations and set any one of them as a primary location. The location you set as the primary location determines the country that your listing will appear in.

How does selling work?

Find out more about selling games on Tabletop Junkie on our Sell Board Games page.

How can I change my listing thumbnail?

Your thumbnail is the first image shown on your listing card.

To change it, find your listing, click Edit, and reorder your images. The image in the first position is always used as the thumbnail.

For grouped listings, the group photo is used for the grouped/bundle card. If you add individual images to a specific listing in that group, the first individual image is used for that individual listing card.

Can I temporarily pause my listings without removing them?

Yes. You can pause listings temporarily without deleting them from the site.

For example, if you are also selling on other platforms and need to hold listings while waiting for payment, use the pause option.

Go to the user menu in the navbar, click "Selling", then click the pause button on any listing you want to pause.

Is my personal data shared with third parties?

Your personal data is never shared with third parties and we don't use any cookies to track your behaviour. See our Legal Notice.

How does postage work?

Sellers are expected to post items using a tracked or otherwise evidenced delivery service. Buyers can request a specific delivery service, but any additional cost should be paid by the buyer.

If an item goes missing, it remains the seller's responsibility to either ensure the item reaches the buyer or provide a full refund.

If you are UK based, we recommend using Parcel2Go to compare delivery services and find competitive postage prices.

Tabletop Junkie has no affiliation with Parcel2Go. It is only suggested as a useful price comparison option.

How should buyers pay for items?

Buyers and sellers are free to agree their own payment arrangements. However, if an item is being posted, we strongly advise using PayPal Goods and Services because it provides protection if something goes wrong.

We strongly discourage using non-protected payment methods, such as PayPal Friends and Family, unless you are collecting in person and fully accept the risk. If you choose an unprotected method and there is an issue, Tabletop Junkie is not responsible for losses.

If a buyer selects PayPal Goods and Services, a 3% PayPal fee is automatically added to the final price shown before purchase.

How do PayPal Goods and Services fees work?

On Tabletop Junkie, if a buyer chooses PayPal Goods & Services, we simplify PayPal's usual fee structure. Rather than charging PayPal's 2.9% plus the varying regional flat fee, we apply a straightforward 3% on top of the purchase price.

This 3% is paid by the buyer. The additional fixed regional PayPal fee is not added to the total.

Tabletop Junkie does not charge any additional fees.

Does Tabletop Junkie charge any fees to buyers or sellers?

Tabletop Junkie does not charge buyer or seller platform fees. Buying and selling on Tabletop Junkie is completely free.

How do returns work?

Returns are at the seller's discretion and are not included by default.

If an item is significantly different from the listing description, the buyer should contact the seller. Examples include major condition issues not disclosed, missing pieces, or incorrect listing information.

How can I trade safely?
  • Use PayPal Goods and Services for posted items.
  • As a seller, always use an evidenced tracked postage service.
  • Check seller reviews before making a purchase.
  • Keep key agreements and confirmations in writing.
  • Keep proof of payment and postage receipts until complete delivery.
  • For in-person collection, meet in a safe public place where possible.
What happens if there is a dispute between a buyer and seller?

Both users must follow the buyer and seller responsibility rules in Terms of Use (Article 3: Buying and Selling Rules).

If there is still disagreement, contact Tabletop Junkie support at contact@tabletopjunkie.com for mediation.

If either party refuses to follow the Terms of Use, or refuses to comply with a decision made by Tabletop Junkie staff, that account may be suspended or banned.

Any attempt to recover money from a seller must be handled through PayPal where applicable. For PayPal Goods and Services payments, PayPal reviews eligible claims under its Buyer and Seller Protection rules and decides outcomes according to its policy.

What do the listing badges mean?

Condition: Shows the seller-selected condition grade for that listing (for example, Like New, Good Condition, Worn, or Incomplete).

BUNDLE

How should sellers grade item condition?

Sellers must use their best judgement when selecting condition.

  • Like New: Opened and possibly played once, or opened and unpunched, but in pristine condition and almost indistinguishable from new.
  • Good Condition: Played but still in very good condition. The box may show minor blemishes and rulebooks may show signs of use.
  • Worn: Fully playable, but components show noticeable wear and tear from regular play.
  • Incomplete: One or more pieces are missing.
